Orly Lunar Eclipse (Cosmic FX Collection)

Hello! I’m finally back from my most horrendous week of the year! 40% and 60% essays and 30% test within 6 days is seriously no joke omg. I don’t even know how I got past it! I missed nail blogging so much but I kinda feel as though I dunno how to blog anymore cos I didn’t do it for so long ):

Anyway today we have Orly Lunar Eclipse here! It came from the same collection as Halley’s Comet yet the finish is not quite the same. This is more of a jelly base with super spammage of microglitter that makes it look so sparkly! Instead, Halley’s Comet is more of a glass fleck, unlike Lunar Eclipse.

Check out the bottle colour. There’s duochrome of purple and gold in there but the gold NEVER showed up on my nails before ):

This is Lunar Eclipse, face on. It’s a royal blue base with the microglitter and this is two coats. It’s soooooooo sparkly!! When there is a light source shining at it, it really looks lit from within. So pretty! ❤ This is on my toes now and whenever I wear my gold Zara grecian sandals with this, it just makes me look very Egyptian hahahaha =X (I mean my feet though, not my whole body =\ )

Under a different light source the purple duochrome shows up, you can tell a little from these two pictures! It’s actually more obvious in real life. Somehow duochromes don’t always show up well in pictures. Someone needs to invent a camera that can pick up all the colours in a polish NOW!!

Anyway I will be back to regular posting as much as I can, until my exams next month. I have the best exam timetable for the whole of my university life! Can’t wait for holidays when I can paint my nails EVERYDAY! ❤

Nfu Oh #051

Nfu Oh #051 is probably the most gorgeous polish i the world. I’m not kidding you. All the following pictures do not do this polish any justice at all. It is so gorgeous in real life! But you know, purple does freaky things to the camera so it is terribly difficult for me to photograph the true colour of this polish, sadly.

I think this is the only photo that shows the shade of purple that is almost like what it is in real life. This was 3 coats. The formula isn’t very good though, it takes ages to dry. Each coat has about 2 hours in between but each coat was still dentable after 2 hours which is super long! Look at the red flakes. Just look at it. They look like burning embers glowing through the royal purple jelly base. It’s just different using this on its own, as compared to layering it over a base colour like a black creme or something. The jelly base really makes the flakes look very well suspended! The flakes change into so many shades and I apologize for not being able to show you all the angles clearly.

Take note that the shade of purple in all the upcoming photos are not not true! I spammed photos so that I can show you the many shades of flakies that shows up!

Red flakies

Flakies transitioning from red, to orange, to yellow, to green

Flakies at it’s most extreme angle and we can see green flakes!

And I don’t know why but blue flakies can be seen here! This must be a really extreme angle cos I normally don’t see blue flakies in this polish!

I took about 70 photos just for this and none of them turned out to be what I wanted. I’m really upset that you won’t be able to see how gorgeous this is in real life! Videos didn’t do it justice as well so I won’t be posting one up despite meaning to ):

Although the formula sucks, it is still so worth getting!! No regrets about this cos its really soooooo gorgeous. Will anyone be interested in it if I am able to get hold of them at reasonable prices? 🙂

Nfu Oh #051, I hereby declare you the most gorgeous polish in the world.

Zoya Faye (Sunshine Collection)

Zoya Faye is the first colour that I fell in love with from the Sunshine collection. I also own Tanzy and am hoping to get Rica and Apple in future!

Zoya Faye is a warm royal purple glass fleck glitter with duochrome gold/rose gold shimmer! It is so gorgeous in real life and has a very regal look to it. This was three coats. The first coat was pretty sheer but at the second coat it was nearly opaque. I just had to do three coats cos I’m like that. The formula is very smooth and buttery to apply, and I especially love the Zoya brushes cos their bristles are pretty short but they fan out easily due to its flexibility. It was very easy for me to paint a perfect curve at my cuticles (:

This picture is where you can see most of the purple and lesser of the duochrome gold shimmer!

Let me explain the term ‘duochrome’ to the people who don’t already know. A polish is considered a duochrome when you can see more than one colour when the light falls on the nails and changes when the light hits the nails at different angles. Multichromes are even more amazing. They usually flash at least four different colours and are VERY fascinating to look at!

I’ve already tried Tanzy but I need better swatches so maybe I’ll redo them in future! Can’t wait to order more polishes from Zoya when the Smoke and Mirrors collection becomes available!
